Zoe Cohen is a social worker specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, anxiety, and depression. She has a special interest in working with patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), both with and without eating disorders.
Zoe works with adolescents, adults, and families, fostering a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic environment. Her approach is tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, emphasizing trust, safety, and unconditional support as the foundation of the therapeutic relationship, paired with targeted treatments to help her patients make meaningful changes in their lives.
Zoe’s therapeutic approach draws from a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT-E), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), and Family Based Treatment (FBT). Zoe approaches treatment with a change-oriented, present-focused, and practical mindset. Utilizing science-backed treatment plans ensures more targeted and reliable interventions, leading to improved outcomes for patients and overall quicker change. She works from a trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned approach. Additionally, she believes in an intuitive eating model and an all foods fit mentality.
Zoe earned her Master of Social Work at Yeshiva University. In addition to her work at Conason Psychological Services, Zoe also works as Director of Clinical Services for Backcountry Wellness Eating Disorder Treatment Center. She has experience working with patients in residential levels of care, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient settings.
Zoe is available for in-person sessions at our NYC office and for virtual sessions with clients across New York and Connecticut.
